Brandon Clarke’s fiancee opens up about shocking death of Grizzlies player: ‘You were everything to me’

Amber Lorraine posted to Instagram, writing that «there are no words to describe this feeling» with attached photos of her and Clarke throughout their relationship, and sharing that the two were planning to get married.

The cause of Clarke’s death at 29 years old remains under investigation, with NBC4 reporting that law enforcement is investigating his death as a possible overdose.

Brandon Clarke’s fiancee opens up about shocking death

Lorraine made her first public comments about Clarke’s death through an Instagram post on Sunday, paying tribute to the former Grizzlies forward.

Her post included a series of photos of the couple and a clip of Clarke getting down on one knee in September 2025, with Lorraine writing, «I never thought I’d have to live life without you.»

«You were the most special person, with the biggest heart. You made an impact on so many people, but most of all me. I have never felt so loved and cared for, you made me feel like the most special girl in the world. You were always so impressive to me, everything you were passionate about, everything you were elite at,» Lorraine’s caption read. «I miss your silly jokes and childlike wonder. I miss your laugh and the way you made me laugh. I miss your big arms wrapped around me. I miss waking up with you by my side.»

«I don’t know how to process that you aren’t here anymore. I love you always Brandon, forever and always.»

Brandon Clarke’s fiancée, Amber Lorraine, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram following his tragic passing at age 29.

Lorraine’s post also detailed the couple’s plans to get married, then «start a family and live on land with a bunch of animals and a garden,» and she included an old note from Clarke when he was asking her to be his girlfriend, which read: «Amber… I love you with all my heart, as I have for years. As I will forever. I know you basically have been… but will you PLEASE BE MY GIRLFRIEND? Your love Brandon.»

What happened to Brandon Clarke?

Clark died on Monday, May 11 at age 29 in Los Angeles. An official cause of death has not yet been reported.

However, NBC4 reported that the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call of a medical emergency in the San Fernando Valley. Upon paramedics’ arrival, Clarke was declared dead, and «drug paraphernalia was found in the home,» with the incident is being «investigated as a possible overdose.» 

Per the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Clarke’s cause of death has been deferred and his body has been released, with the case remaining open.
