Grand Korea Leisure August Casino Sales Fall To US$23 Million

According to the filing submitted by the company with Korea Exchange on Thursday, its August casino revenues stood at almost KRW31.11 billion (US$22.91 million), recording an annual drop of 11.3% and a monthly fall of 25.4%. It was a drop both from July and the corresponding period last year.

GKL operates 3 foreign-only Seven Luck casinos. They include 2 of them in Seoul, one in Seoul Dragon City Yongsan, and the other in Seven Luck Hotel Casino in Gangnam, and the third one in the south-eastern port city of Busan. The corporation is a subsidiary of Korea Tourism Organization, which is under South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Table And Machine Sales Decline

August table-game sales were approximately KRW27.81 billion. This was a year-on-year fall of 10.8%, while the sequential fall was 26.9%.

The sales of the machine game last month stood at KRW3.30 billion, marking a year-on-year fall of 15.4% and a sequential fall of 9.8%. It can be seen from the data that the sales of both the table games and the machine games fell in August compared to the previous month and the previous year. Seoul Dragon City in Yongsan posted KRW12.85 billion in casino revenue in August, marking a fall of about 10.0% on a year-over-year basis and by 2.0% month-on-month.

August casino revenue at the Seoul Gangnam facility came to almost KRW12.41 billion, reflecting a fall of 13.3% on a year-over-year basis and 43.1% from the previous month. The Gangnam facility had a greater monthly drop compared to that seen at the Yongsan facility.

Group Sales And Drop Figures

Grand Korea Leisure’s latest results took its group-wide aggregate casino sales for the first 8 months of 2026 to nearly KRW299.97 billion. That was a 5.6% improvement from the prior-year period.

Group-wide casino drop, which is the amount customers pay to purchase gaming chips, amounted to nearly KRW341.40 billion in August. The figure was up 7.2% year-on-year and rose 5.0% from July.

The August drop took Grand Korea Leisure’s aggregate casino drop for the first 8 months of the year to KRW2.65 trillion, up 10.5% year-on-year. The year-to-date drop figure remained above the corresponding period of 2025.

August Compared With Earlier Months

The August casino sales decline contrasted with the higher group-wide sales recorded over the first 8 months of 2026. While the monthly result was lower than both July and August 2025, the year-to-date sales remained above the corresponding period of the prior year.
