Who will coach Carlton after Michael Voss’ shock resignation?
Carlton are officially on the market for a new senior coach, following the shocking resignation of Michael Voss.
Voss’ decision was announced on Tuesday morning, although it’s believed he had made a decision on his future prior to the Carlton’s loss against Brisbane last Friday night.
The 50-year-old’s decision now leaves the Blues will a void to fill, with Voss’ assistant coach Josh Fraser set to step up and coach the side for the remainder of the season.
Fraser brings a wealth of experience to the role, with the former number one pick having enjoyed a 218-game career across both Collingwood and Gold Coast, before commencing a coaching career that has seen him serve as senior coach for two VFL clubs, before joining the Blues as an assistant this year.

The timing of Voss’ departure gives Fraser more than half a season to audition for the full-time role, should he be interested in remaining in the top seat.
The Blues will likely explore the possibility of former senior coaches such as John Longmire, Ken Hinkley, Adam Simpson and Nathan Buckley, although one of Hinkley or Buckley are expected to land the vacant Tasmanian coaching job.
Fraser’s coaching tenure will get underway on Saturday night when the Blues take on the Western Bulldogs.
