North Queensland representative winger Murray Taulagi has suffered another concussion and has been ruled out indefinitely.

His third known concussion of the 2026 NRL season, the Cowboys revealed Taulagi was injured at training last week with no timeline set for a return.
Playing his eighth and final season in Townsville before picking up a lucrative deal in French rugby, there are fears the 27-year-old may have already played his last game for the club he joined in 2019.
Earlier this year Taulagi suffered two concussions within just three weeks — one in Round 7 and a second leading up to Round 9 — with Cowboys medical staff taking a conservative approach rather than the standard 11-day stand-down.

With less than three weeks until the Cowboys play in Week 1 of the NRL finals — assuming they hold off the Bulldogs for the top eight — it will be touch and go if Taulagi returns to the field in 2026.
Speaking from Townsville, North Queensland coach Todd Payten provided a brief update on next steps.
“Muz will go and see the independent doctor to work out what this next period looks like for him, but unfortunately it’s his third (concussion) for the season,” he said.
