Interblock’s Free Fall Roulette Wins Macau Approval Ahead Of Asia Debut

Interblock’s Free Fall Roulette product has received approval from Macau’s casino regulator and is set to make its Asian debut in the city. Vincent Tang, Interblock’s vice president of sales for Asia Pacific, said the product has officially received DICJ approval on paper, referring to Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

Final Inspection Stage Underway

Tang added that the company is now in the final stage of the approval process, which involves the official demo and inspection before the machines can go live on the gaming floor. He said Interblock is currently coordinating in the machine setup.

There is not yet an estimated date for the product to become operational in Macau casinos, as the company is awaiting confirmation regarding the setup for the machines for a final inspection. Tang said once the inspection has been successfully completed and all regulatory requirements have been fulfilled, the company can proceed with installation.

According to the executive, Macau is poised to become the first gaming jurisdiction in Asia to introduce the Free Fall Roulette, part of the group’s AMUSE product line. Assuming everything proceeds as planned, Macau will become the first gaming jurisdiction in Asia to officially launch the Free Fall Roulette, Tang told GGRAsia. The product is yet to appear in any other Asian gaming jurisdiction, he confirmed.

AMUSE Line Blends ETG, Slot, and Live-Table Elements

Interblock announced in 2024 the launch of AMUSE, described by the supplier as a new sector product range combining elements of ETG play, slot play, and even live-table gaming, all packaged for an experience akin to an arcade game. The Free Fall Roulette product is offered via the company’s Universal Cabinet and is described as a pinball-style twist on roulette. The play mechanism is inspired by a Plinko ball drop, according to Interblock’s corporate materials.

The approval marks a key step for Interblock in bringing the AMUSE concept to the Macau market, where electronic table games and hybrid formats have been gaining attention from operators looking to diversify their floor offerings. The company’s focus on arcade-style mechanics is intended to appeal to a different type of player compared with traditional table games.

Leadership Change At Interblock

In late July, Interblock announced that Kay Oswald had been appointed as its chief executive. The leadership change comes as the company moves to roll out new products such as Free Fall Roulette in key markets.

With Macau approval secured on paper and final inspections pending, Interblock is now working toward placing the machines on the casino floor. The timing of that rollout will depend on the outcome of the inspection and the coordination of machine setup with operators.
