Now St. George Illawarra forward Loko Jnr Pasifiki Tonga has agreed to a contract extension that will see the 21-year-old remain at the club until at least the end of 2029.

The Dragons confirmed the news in a statement on Wednesday morning.

“I’m really excited to be extending my time here at the Dragons under Dean Young,” Pasifiki Tonga said.

“I’ve been enjoying my footy, and I believe in the direction that Youngy is taking us,” he said.

“I’ve been at the Dragons since I was 17 years old, I’ve grown up here, and I’ve built a lot of relationships. I love my teammates and I’m confident that we are on the way up here.”

Pasifiki Tonga played in the St. George SG Ball side in 2023 and 2024, helping lead the Dragons to their first U19 title in 32 years.

A NSW U19 State of Origin representative in 2024, he made his NRL debut in 2025 and has so far made 13 appearances in 2026, becoming a first-choice prop under Dean Young.

It marks a major turnaround after a frustrated Pasifiki Tonga had sought permission to speak with rival clubs back in April.

Pasifiki Tonga joins fellow Dragons forwards Ryan and Toby Couchman, Hamish Stewart and Dylan Egan in signing extensions in recent weeks.
