SEGG Media Hits Back With $20M Suit Against White Diamond Research Over ‘Fake Company’ Claims

SEGG Media has filed a $20 million lawsuit in Texas against White Diamond Research and analyst Adam Gefvert, accusing them of publishing false and misleading claims that damaged the company’s reputation and stock price.

The civil action, lodged in Tarrant County District Court last Friday (Jun 26), alleges the defendants engaged in a “short and distort” scheme, spreading disparaging statements with malice. SEGG Media says its shares fell more than 50% after the report was released and amplified on social media.

Robert Stubblefield, the company’s CFO and interim CEO, defended SEGG Media’s position, saying, “Healthy debate and differing investment opinions are part of the public markets. We respect the right of investors, analysts and commentators to express opinions regarding our business and prospects. However, we believe certain statements published about SEGG Media go far beyond opinion and constitute materially false representations of fact.”

Short seller reported SEGG to the SEC

The lawsuit comes from a June 10 report in which White Diamond Research claimed: “SEGG isn’t a real company. It just announces various schemes in order to sell stock to investors. It’s not the type of company to develop a business and hope to eventually make a profit. That will never happen with its current management. A tiger can’t change its stripes.”

The report also questioned SEGG’s sports.com project, saying investors expected it to become a betting site before the 2026 World Cup but that the platform had not gone live.

“We don’t think it will become operational before the World Cup starts, and we believe most of the investors who bought shares in the hopes of it will sell their shares,” the report stated.

White Diamond further claimed it had reported SEGG to the SEC, calling the company’s announcements “a long-running scheme of scam PRs and retail investor theft.”

SEGG points to deals, partnerships, and leadership

SEGG Media counters that it has completed significant transactions, including acquiring a controlling interest in Veloce Media Group, a sports and esports company with established revenues.

It also highlighted the rollout of Sports.com Predict on June 10, 2026, and ongoing development of platforms such as Concerts.com, TicketStub.com, and Lottery.com.

White Diamond’s report claimed something entirely different. It alleged that SEGG had issued “at least 12 press releases in 2025” announcing ventures that never materialized.

Among those, it listed a supposed relaunch of Lottery.com in Mexico, a $14 million U.S. expansion deal involving David Lloyd, and a Sports.com “Super App” that it said was never built. The report also cast doubt on SEGG’s April 2026 partnership with prediction markets platform Polymarket, arguing that the deal would not deliver the promised Sports.com Predict product before the World Cup.

SEGG countered that Sports.com Predict did in fact launch on June 10, 2026, in line with its stated timeline. The company says investors should judge its initiatives by disclosed agreements and execution rather than speculation.

SEGG addresses legacy issues

The company also addressed legacy issues raised in the report, noting that past regulatory and legal problems involved former executives no longer connected to SEGG. Current management, it says, has strengthened governance, improved oversight, and cooperated with federal authorities.

Stubblefield reaffirmed SEGG’s focus on shareholders. “Our focus remains unchanged. We will continue executing our business plan, integrating acquired assets, strengthening operations, expanding revenue opportunities and building long-term shareholder value. While we will vigorously defend the Company against false and maliciously disparaging statements, our primary objective remains delivering results. We believe those results will ultimately speak for themselves.”

SEGG Media plans to publish a detailed FAQ addressing the disputed claims and will make the lawsuit available on its investor relations website.
