Konami Gaming Revenue Edges Higher as Profit Falls in 2026

Konami Group Corp’s gaming and systems division posted a modest revenue increase for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, even as operating profit dropped by more than half. The segment, which includes casino equipment, generated nearly JPY43.08 billion, or US$274.9 million, up 1.0% from JPY42.67 billion in the previous period.

Operating profit for the division fell 50.4% year-on-year to JPY3.65 billion. That left the segment’s operating profit margin at about 8% for the 12-month period, down from roughly 17% a year earlier. The results show a business that continued to grow at the top line, but with a much thinner profit base than in the prior year.

Gaming Division Results

Konami said its gaming and systems business covers the supply of casino slot machines and casino floor-management systems. The group also expanded the division’s scope last October with the launch of Konami Online Interactive, which it described as the third pillar of Konami Gaming’s business.

Outside Japan, the casino gaming segment operates through Konami Australia Pty Ltd and U.S.-based Konami Gaming Inc. In its comments accompanying the results, the company said the North American and Australian markets remained stable during the period. It also noted that both markets continued to see a steady flow of new slot products from competing manufacturers, which created placement opportunities.

The company pointed to the release of the Solstice 49C product in its slot machine segment. Konami said this was its first new cabinet model in approximately 6 years and marked the debut of the Solstice series. In terms of content, the supplier said the Solstice series cabinets, including the Bomberman titles that use Konami’s signature intellectual property, maintained strong performance during the year. It also said the Bull Rush Stampede series gained popularity in Australia.

Systems And Product Growth

Konami said its casino management system business also continued to expand. The number of facilities adopting Synkros increased during the reporting period, supported by installations at casino properties in California and New Mexico, as well as on cruise ships. The company added that it expanded Synk Vision, its player facial recognition solution for slot machines, to table games, saying the move would improve convenience for both operators and players.

The division’s revenue outlook for the next financial year is also higher. Gaming and Systems revenues are projected by Konami to be in the vicinity of JPY46.0 billion for the fiscal year that will end on March 31, 2027. An estimated operating profit of JPY6.5 billion is expected by the firm for the same period. Such numbers indicate profitability despite the investments made by the company.

Group-Wide Performance

Konami Group’s broader results were stronger than the gaming and systems division alone. Group-wide revenue for the 12 months to March 31 rose 17.1% year-on-year to nearly JPY493.68 billion. Profit for the full group also increased, reaching nearly JPY100.01 billion, up 33.9% from the prior year.

The company also announced a final dividend of JPY138.50 for the financial year ended March 31, payable on June 4. That compares with JPY107.50 a year earlier. Alongside the dividend increase, the results showed that Konami’s wider portfolio continued to deliver growth across multiple business lines, even as its gaming and systems operations faced a weaker profit year.
