Jed York suspension details
York was suspended six games and fined $500,000 for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The punishment comes a little more than a month after the 49ers owner was handed a two-day jail sentence after being arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution.
York was formally charged with one count of disorderly conduct and one count of possessing criminal tools — a catch-all term that broadly outlaws using any material to carry out a «criminal» act.
The 46-year-old pleaded no contest to the charges. He’ll serve a six-game ban effective immediately.
The punishment is eerily similar to the one Goodell issued for former Colts owner Jim Irsay when he violated the league’s personal conduct policy after receiving a DWI.

What did Jed York do?
York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio on Aug. 23. According to a police report obtained by KRON-4, York was apprehended on suspicion of engaging in prostitution. The California Post reported that York responded to an advertisement from a known prostitution website in Columbiana County. York reportedly «arranged to have sexual activity with the female in exchange for $140.»
York had his charge of engaging in prostitution downgraded to one count of disorderly conduct. He pleaded no contest to all charges and was handed a two-day sentence in the Columbiana County jail — he received credit for a day served — and a $1,150 fine.
Bodycam footage of the arrest obtained by TMZ showed York, seen wearing his wedding ring, a Yankees T-shirt, basketball shorts and tennis shoes, get pulled over in a rental car.
As he was placed in handcuffs, York asked officers: «Can I ask what you’re doing?»
York claimed to just be driving. Police reportedly found «several hundred dollars worth of cash in $20 bills» in his vehicle. Two of his phones were also apprehended, one of which featured a text exchange between York and the number linked to a known prostitution website in Columbiana County.
