Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams blew Sunday night’s game to the Denver Broncos, relinquishing a 16-point halftime lead to fall 30-26 in Denver. That dropped the Rams to 1-2 on the season, and it appears that Sean McVay was not in the mood to talk about the loss.

McVay often provides interesting insights during his postgame press conference, but on Sunday night he seemed more inclined to avoid questions all together. While McVay technically fulfilled his league-mandated media availability, he did so in a manner that caused backlash from the team’s beat writers.
It doesn’t get any easier for the Rams, as they have to fly cross country to play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. During the week, though, McVay may have to address why he limited questions on this night.
Here’s why McVay is under fire from the team’s beat writers.

Sean McVay postgame press conference
After the Rams loss to the Broncos, McVay had a fairly quick press conference that lasted just a few minutes. The Rams head coach reached the podium immediately after the game ended, and he took questions for around five minutes before moving on to the locker room.
Here was the start of the Rams’ live stream from their YouTube account.

After some beat writers noted how unusual it is for a head coach to produce a short media session following a game, some of the Rams PR team came to McVay’s defense.

Please add that you chose to watch the end of the game in the press box instead of coming down at the five minute mark as instructed. You were late.

That’s literally every game ever covered, Artis. We do this process every week. If it were supposed to be any different, I’d have seen this happen at least once before across four different NFL beats.

McVay is largely considered one of the more media-friendly head coaches in the league, so it’s rare to see him get into a squabble with the media. In all likelihood, McVay let his frustration with blowing Sunday night’s game get to him in the immediate aftermath.
The Rams entered the season as the Super Bowl favorites, putting the team under the microscope as they look to live up to the hype. Thus far, between the issues in Australia and the blown lead last night, the Rams are in the news for the wrong reasons instead.
McVay will have to potentially answer to his quick exit on Monday, when he is set to meet with the media to begin Week 4.
