Bears get quarterback update ahead of ‘Monday Night Football’
ESPN reported Sunday that Williams’ Grade 2 hamstring injury is expected to sideline him for multiple weeks, ruling him out for Week 3.
The Bears also won’t be starting their top backup, Tyson Bagent, due to an injury. Per ESPN, Bagent reported to Chicago on Tuesday that he was feeling the effects of a concussion, and he’s been in concussion protocol throughout the week.

Bagent is officially questionable for Monday’s game and did practice on Saturday, but veteran Case Keenum is expected to start against the Eagles, per Ian Rapoport.

Keenum, 38, hasn’t started an NFL game since 2023, when he was with the Texans. The journeyman has become a valued member of the Bears’ quarterback room for his leadership and guidance with Williams despite not taking the field for Chicago yet; Keenum hasn’t even taken an NFL snap since 2023.
While it appears Bagent may be available if needed, the Bears will be sending out Keenum seeking their second win of the season.
