Turkey Leads iGaming Growth as Football Drives Market Interest
Turkey recorded the strongest rise in iGaming acquisition intent last week, with the Blask Index showing a 24.2% jump as the new Trendyol 1. Lig season got underway.

The increase came during the opening round of the 2026–27 campaign, played from August 7 to 9. The timing points to another strong link between football activity and short-term changes in gambling interest.
Guinea ranked second, climbing 19.3%. Its increase followed a major promotion from Guinée Games, which announced a 250 million Guinean franc jackpot, worth about $28,500, for Better Barn House Bonanza on August 4.
France was close behind at 18.2%. Its rise coincided with a busy schedule of Ligue 1 pre-season football, including Lens against Sunderland and Rennes against Brentford on August 8, as well as Marseille fixtures.
The pattern was not limited to established European markets.
Angola’s Regulatory Shift Adds to Growth
Angola posted a 17.9% increase during the week. The country remains in a transitional phase under its new Gaming Activity Law, with the Instituto de Supervisão de Jogos maintaining a 30-day window for licensing.
That regulatory activity was identified by Blask as the main market event during the reporting period.

The Republic of the Congo completed the top five with growth of 16.6%. Blask did not identify a specific country-level event behind the increase.
The figures cover August 3–9 and measure weekly changes in acquisition intent rather than gambling revenue. The Blask Index uses activity across regulated markets to track shifts in operator interest and consumer demand.
The results also came shortly after the conclusion of the World Cup, with several of the strongest weekly movements linked to football fixtures, promotions or regulatory developments.
For operators, the figures offer a snapshot of where consumer acquisition activity was moving immediately after the tournament. They do not, by themselves, indicate whether those increases will persist.
