But those plans are now sensationally off again with the Panthers shifting the goalposts.
With Jack Cogger remaining in Sydney for the birth of his child, the out of favour Talagi appeared to have been promoted to start alongside Nathan Cleary at five-eighth when final squads were released on Thursday night.
However Penrith coach Ivan Cleary has swung another late change with Jack Cole now set to start at five-eighth and Talagi relegated back to the reserves bench.

Baring injury it means Talagi is unlikely to see game time in Auckland as the 21-year-old’s playing future, at least for now, seems increasingly uncertain.
