Bills new jerseys: Why fans are criticizing Buffalo’s ‘Nickel City’ gray uniforms
A new stadium isn’t all that the Bills are introducing in 2026.
The Bills have unveiled new «Nickel City» gray alternate uniforms for the upcoming season, to be worn twice this season in between the use of the team’s typical home and road sets.
The uniform, which comes with a brand new helmet, has drawn major backlash from Bills fans and earned some mockery from other NFL fan bases.

Bills new jerseys 2026
The Bills unveiled gray alternate jerseys on Monday. They will be paired with a royal blue helmet that features the «red charge» icon from the team’s logo.

«Visual inspiration came from the steel mills, grain elevators and rail yards, which are foundational to the city’s place in history,» the Bills said in Monday’s announcement.
The uniforms will be worn twice in 2026, but the Bills haven’t announced which games.
The design process took eight months, according to the Bills, and included «choosing fabric colors, helmet paint finishes and broadcast TV tests.»

Winning cures everything, and Bills fans won’t remember the two games in gray if they see Josh Allen lift the Lombardi Trophy in February.
As it stands now, though, fans are frustrated that the team’s long process of adding an alternate jersey produced this outcome.
