RGB Expands Into Philippine Online B2B Gaming

Malaysia-listed gaming equipment supplier RGB International Bhd has moved into the Philippines’ online gaming space through a unit acting as an accredited business-to-business gaming content provider. The company said the step opens a fresh business path while it continues to remain confident about its land-based gaming prospects across Asia.

New Online Role In Philippines

The development was outlined by RGB executive director Chuah Hui Jing in an interview at the recent Global Gaming Expo Asia casino trade show and conference in Macau. She said RGB Ltd (Philippine Branch) is listed in a 28 May document from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp as a gaming content affiliate for the country’s online sector, across 7 content channels, including electronic casino games.

The same document also lists RGB Ltd (Philippine Branch) as an accredited game aggregator, although the regulator’s records showed the company had not yet begun operations in that role as of 28 May. RGB’s move comes as gaming suppliers continue to seek exposure to the Philippines’ online gaming market, even as regulators tighten oversight of some payment channels and customer acquisition practices.

Chuah said the company is preparing to begin distributing Light & Wonder Inc’s online games. She described that as RGB’s first step into the online space and said the firm is the exclusive distributor for Light & Wonder in the Philippines, helping land-based casinos bridge the gap between online and land-based gaming. She added that RGB hopes to add other brands to its online-content distribution network now that it has the B2B licence and is accredited to provide online games.

Online As A Growth Segment

Chuah said online gaming is a new business segment for RGB and one it sees as a possible source of future growth. That push adds another layer to the company’s regional strategy at a time when the Philippines is becoming more important to suppliers looking to serve both online and physical casino markets.

The shift also gives RGB a broader role in the country’s gaming ecosystem, with the company now positioned not only as a supplier of land-based content but also as a distributor in the online channel.

Land-Based Demand Continues

Despite a softer first quarter for the Philippine gaming industry, RGB said the land-based market remains important. PAGCOR reported a 15.9% year-on-year decline in aggregate first-quarter gross gaming revenue, with both online and land-based casinos posting weaker figures.

Chuah said operators are still investing in refreshing casino floors and upgrading game offerings. She said integrated resorts need to renew their gaming floors from time to time to retain customers, and suggested that machine replacement rates at major Manila integrated resorts are typically around 8% to 10% a year, based on a conservative estimate.

RGB said it remains committed to working with land-based casinos to deliver high-quality game content and to support better synergy between the land-based and online products that many operators are allowed to offer at the same time. The company said its broader Asia-Pacific presence helps in that effort.

Philippines And Vietnam Plans

Chuah also pointed to RGB’s technical support and management segment, saying it provides machine concession programmes through partnerships with licensed operators. She said the company has more than 3,400 active electronic gaming machines deployed across 36 outlets in Asia, including in the Philippines.

That footprint, she said, helps RGB understand local market dynamics and game performance, allowing it to make data-driven recommendations and optimize machine mix and game selection. The company is also looking forward to supplying gaming machines to new land-based venues in the Philippines, including the upcoming Westside Resort casino complex in Manila’s Entertainment City later this year.

Beyond the Philippines, RGB sees Vietnam as its next focus in land-based gaming opportunities. Chuah said the company is closely watching the Grand Ho Tram, which has become a key pilot under Vietnam’s refreshed locals-play scheme. She also said Vietnam is entering a new phase in casino policy, with several new projects expected to create further opportunities for the supplier.
