Phil Gould tensions begin to show as Ciraldo speaks ahead of crucial Storm showdown
He’s already dealing with a five-game losing streak at Belmore.
Now Cameron Ciraldo has fended off persistent questions about Bulldogs GM of Football Phil Gould ahead of the club’s crucial Round 12 clash with the Melbourne Storm on Friday night.
Unshaven and ever-so-slightly unnerved, Ciraldo seemed none too pleased about having to respond to the latest media comments made by Gould suggesting key 2025 signing Lachlan Galvin isn’t a long-term halfback and that the club is ‘rethinking everything about its operation’.
“I’m not sure about the word ‘rethink’,” Ciraldo bristled when asked for his thoughts on Gould’s comments.

“If you’re not turning up every week looking at the trends of the game, the trends of your team and what other teams are doing, then you’re probably not doing your job,” he added.

With the Phil Gould questions continuing, Ciraldo’s frustration was obvious to see.
“I should have got Gus to do this press conference, because it’s all about what he said,” Ciraldo quipped, before saying he wasn’t sure what Gould was referring to when he alluded to there being ‘internal reasons’ for the Bulldogs’ current struggles.
“I don’t know what he is specifically talking about there,” Ciraldo said.
As for Gould’s comments on current No.7 Lachlan Galvin?
“He’s the best half we’ve got right now and he has an opportunity to be a halfback as long as he wants to be,” Ciraldo declared in support of his 20-year-old playmaker.
