Paradise Co. Posts Record August Casino Revenue At US$76.9 Million

Paradise Co., the South Korean casino operator that operates casinos for foreign tourists only, announced a record-high level of casino revenue of KRW104.91 billion ($76.9 million) for the month of August, despite the fact that the number of VIP customers did not change from the same month last year.

The increase from the previous year reached 32.1%, and compared to the revised July figure of KRW77.22 billion ($56.6 million), the increase was 35.8%. 

This month’s revenue outstripped the previous record of KRW98.14 billion ($72 million), which took place in May.

VIP Visiting Days Remain Stable

Paradise recorded 16,950 VIP visiting days across its 4 casinos in August, compared with 16,879 in August 2025. The company’s measure counts each day a VIP customer visits rather than the number of unique visitors.

Japanese VIP visiting days increased to 9,668 from 9,217 a year earlier. Chinese VIP visiting days fell to 3,027 from 3,325, while visiting days from other VIP customers declined to 4,255 from 4,337.

The limited movement in VIP traffic contrasted with the stronger gaming results recorded during the month. The overall VIP visiting days were nearly unchanged, while casino revenue reached a new monthly high.

Table Revenue And Hold Increase

Table-game revenue rose by 32.7% year-on-year to KRW99.43 billion (US$72.9 million). Table drop increased more moderately, rising 3.7% to KRW680.50 billion (US$498.9 million).

The difference between table revenue and table drop was reflected in the group’s hold rate. Hold from tables was recorded at 14.6% in August, which is an improvement on the 11.4% posted last year, as well as the 10.8% from July.

Revenue from machines saw an increase as well, going up by 23.1% year-over-year to KRW5.47 billion (US$4 million). The higher machine revenue contributed to the overall monthly casino result.

Customer Segments Show Mixed Results

Japanese VIP drop, the operator’s largest customer segment, increased by 3.1% to KRW298.95 billion (US$219.2 million). Chinese VIP drop declined by 12% to KRW100.20 billion (US$73.5 million).

Mass-market drop moved higher, increasing by 3.9% to KRW159.39 billion (US$116.9 million). The figures showed different movements among the customer groups, with Japanese VIP drop and mass-market drop rising while Chinese VIP drop fell.

The changes in drop were recorded alongside the increase in table-game revenue and the higher table hold rate. Paradise provided the figures in its monthly operating data without adding further detail on the reasons for the movements. The data covered the company’s 4 casinos and its reported VIP and mass-market activity during August.

First-Eight-Month Revenue Higher

For the first 8 months of 2026, Paradise’s casino revenue increased by 8.1% year-on-year to KRW658.50 billion (US$482.8 million). The cumulative table drop rose by 8.3% to KRW5.17 trillion (US$3.79 billion).

The year-to-date figures remained above the corresponding period of 2025. They also followed the record monthly result recorded in August, when casino revenue moved higher both year-on-year and compared with July.

August Sets New Monthly Record

Paradise’s August performance combined higher table-game revenue, improved table hold, stronger machine revenue, and a relatively stable number of VIP visiting days. The result exceeded the previous monthly high recorded in May.

The customer data showed increased Japanese VIP drop and mass-market drop, alongside lower Chinese VIP drop. Across the first 8 months, casino revenue and table drop continued to show year-on-year growth. The August result was the latest monthly figure included in the company’s operating data.
