Haaland’s talent was certainly apparent, but his blond hair added to the sensation. In many ways, Haaland became known for his look, as he resembled a Viking while playing for a Norway team nicknamed the Vikings.

It seems, though, that Haaland wanted a change as he plays in the 2026-27 Premier League season for Manchester City. The star revealed his new look over the weekend, providing a huge surprise to everyone who has followed his career over the years.

Haaland unveiled to the world that he cut his hair ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, a shock after he starred in the World Cup. Haaland’s growth in popularity was in part due to his long, blond hair, as it fit his Viking aesthetic while playing for and representing Norway.

Over the weekend, though, Haaland debuted his new shorter, tighter look, to the shock of many across the soccer landscape.

Haaland clearly knew how big of a change this was, as he turned him cutting his hair into a whole reveal. He even filmed a video of him revealing his new hair to Pep Guardiola and Zlatan Ibrahimovich.

On Sunday, Haaland played his first match with his short hair as Manchester City beat Bournemouth 2-1. However, Haaland didn’t score so he’s still awaiting that first score with his new look.
