The certification was carried out by Schellman & Co LLC, a United States-based certification body. Konami Gaming said the firm is accredited by ANAB and UKAS and is a member of the International Accreditation Forum.
Certification Covers Information Security
ISO 27001 is an internationally recognised standard for information security management systems. It sets requirements for organisations to establish, implement, operate, monitor, and improve an ISMS based on their business risks.
Konami Gaming said its certification is valid for 3 years. Annual surveillance reviews are scheduled to begin in 2027, meaning the company’s information security management system will continue to be assessed after the certification has been granted.
The certification process included a comprehensive audit intended to verify the company’s compliance with internationally recognised information-security standards. Several internal teams took part in the process, including human resources, systems, marketing, technical compliance, security, information technology, and iGaming.
Synkros Included in Audit
Las Vegas-based Konami Gaming is a subsidiary of Japan-listed Konami Group Corp. The company supplies casino games and technology to the global gaming market, with Synkros serving as one of the systems covered by the certification.
Tom Soukup, Konami Gaming’s senior vice president and chief systems product officer, said the independent certification of Synkros formed part of the company’s continuing work on data privacy and security. He said the research and development, quality assurance, and customer support departments work to provide and support Synkros casino properties with strong data privacy and security practices.

The company said its internal teams used recognised practices while supporting the Synkros system. The certification covers the information security management system connected to the casino management offering and the teams involved in its development and support.
Online Offering Also Covered
The ISO 27001 certification also applies to the development, deployment, and operation of Konami Online Interactive. Eduardo Aching, vice president of iGaming and international gaming operations at Konami Gaming, described the certification as the latest milestone in the company’s work involving security and player protection.
The certification places the company’s online offering within the same information-security framework as the Synkros casino management system. It also reflects the audit’s coverage of iGaming teams and the company’s processes for developing, deploying, and operating the online product.
Konami Emphasises Compliance
Brian Alu, vice president of information technology at Konami Gaming, said the company has long placed compliance ahead of commercial considerations. He said the work to structure its ISMS and achieve ISO 27001 certification demonstrated an ongoing commitment to customers, partners, and employees.
The announcement does not provide details about any changes to the company’s products or operations following the certification. It states that the certification is valid for 3 years, with surveillance reviews beginning in 2027, while Konami Gaming continues to supply casino games and technology through its Synkros and Konami Online Interactive offerings.
