Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott made a bold statement before training camp by wearing a Super Bowl XXX championship T-shirt on the team charter. It signaled he has no intention of avoiding conversations about winning a title.

Prescott said the shirt was not meant to send a message about the upcoming season, but it has sparked plenty of discussion. 

Speaking after the Cowboys’ second training camp practice on Thursday, Prescott addressed the attention it received.

“Set the tone, I think the tone’s been set,” Prescott said, via Cowboys staff writer Calvin Watkins. “To say a T-shirt is going to do it, it would be, I knew you guys would like it.

“Didn’t know how many of the teammates would see it. It’s just the manifesting thing. When we want stuff in life a lot of times, but then you know when people start talking about it, you kinda hesitate. ‘Should I say that? They’re going to hold me to it.’”

The Cowboys have a lengthy championship drought, failing to reach the Super Bowl since winning the 1995 season. The Cowboys have also missed the playoffs in each of the last two years, but Prescott is embracing ambitious expectations heading into 2026.

Prescott revealed that the offense has adopted a new nickname, GOTI, short for “Greatest Offense There Is.” The phrase was introduced during the team’s annual offensive bonding trip and quickly caught on in the locker room. After finishing second in the NFL in total offense last season and returning every offensive starter, the Cowboys believe they are well-positioned to take another step forward offensively.
