Off-contract brothers Ryan and Toby Couchman have committed to the Red V until at least the end of the 2030 season, keeping them off what is sure to be a frenzied player market from  November 1.

The club confirmed the contract extensions in a statement on Saturday morning with head coach Dean Young praising the duo for their work ethic and team-first mentality.

“Ryan and Toby compete relentlessly. They’re consistent, disciplined, and that’s exactly what I value as a coach,” Young said.

“I know how much these men care about the club, and they’ll play a huge role in helping us get to where we want to go,” he added.

Dragons CEO Tim Watsford declared it ‘a special day’ for the club.

“Ryan and Toby are success stories for our club, and it makes us proud to know they’ll be here long-term,” he said.

“They both epitomise what it means to be a Dragon; they’re competitive, hard-working, and good people. They supported the club as kids, came through our Academy, and made their debuts here. 

“Both have bright futures in this game, and we are excited that they’ll wear Dragons jerseys on that journey.”
