Loveland reveals Bears are treating Packers rivalry like it’s Ohio State-Michigan

The Bears and Packers are set to face off twice in the 2026 NFL season. Their first matchup is slated to happen on October 12 at Lambeau Field; the next happens at Soldier Field on Christmas Day. If Caleb Williams and the Bears managed to win both regular season games, the Bears will record their 99th and 100th win over the Packers. This will only place them nine wins behind their division rivals all-time. Everyone on the Bears is out for blood and focused on this singular goal.

Colston Loveland outlined that everyone on the Williams-led squad has the desire to smother the Packers in every game and statistical category. How are they doing so? «For sure. As far as like, in the building, ‘What are you doing to beat Ohio State every day?’ That was where the rivalry was in Michigan. Every TV, everything. That’s how it is at the Bears. Everyone’s only talking about the Packers. You can’t go a day without talking about them, talking about beating them, talking about the bad things. So, it’s very comparable,» the Bears tight end declared.

Notably, Loveland is fresh off his rookie campaign with the Bears. He played 16 games and started alongside Williams for 11 of those fixtures. His season totals amounted to 58 receptions, 713 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. Prior to that, he played for Coach John Harbaugh in Michigan and balled out to beat Ohio State in every sense of the word. This got him a 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship. It also increased his NFL Draft stock quite a bit as the Bears got him with the 10th pick in 2025.

The Bears have every reason to believe that they can outgun the Packers. Williams led them to beat their division rivals in the NFL Wild Card Round, 31-27. They even won the NFC North championship by two wins over the Packers in 2025. Loveland and Co. have all the momentum on their side to vanquish the Packers yet again for the 2026 NFL season. If they truly are treating this rivalry like it’s Ohio State and Michigan, their bloodlust could carry them to more wins too.
