Jerry Jones’ Cowboys’ rumored blockbuster move for $120 million star gets brutally shut down by Cowboys analyst

For years, the Dallas Cowboys’ front office has drawn criticism for taking a conservative approach during the offseason. However, after a disappointing 7-9-1 season that ended without a playoff berth, owner Jerry Jones has taken a noticeably different path heading into the 2026 offseason, adopting a far more aggressive mindset in their roster-building efforts.

Amid that shift, NFL insider Dov Kleiman recently sparked fresh speculation by suggesting the Cowboys have a 21% chance of acquiring the San fransisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk. However, Cowboys analyst Law Thomas of Law Nation Media quickly shut down the rumor, making it clear that he does not believe there is any realistic possibility of such a move.

“I can predict that this is a 0% chance…,” he wrote.

While the betting odds have fueled excitement about that possibility, executing such a deal would require overcoming significant financial, contractual, and logistical obstacles. Before making any major additions, the Cowboys first had to climb out of a difficult salary-cap situation.

As for Aiyuk, his future remains uncertain. He currently carries less than a one percent chance of playing for Dallas during the 2026 season. Although 49ers general manager John Lynch has made it clear that the organization is willing to listen to trade offers.

Meanwhile, Aiyuk recently took to Instagram to confirm that he has informed the 49ers he has no intention of playing for the franchise again. The star wide receiver has openly expressed his desire to join the Washington Commanders. However, despite making his preferred destination known, league insiders believe interest in Aiyuk around the NFL has significantly cooled.
