Flutter Cuts Jobs at PokerStars Amid FanDuel Shift
PokerStars confirmed on Tuesday that staff across several regions had been told their roles were being cut, though the operator did not specify which jurisdictions were most affected. Some positions in North America were included in the layoffs.

The changes form part of Flutter Entertainment’s wider transformation program, which is bringing PokerStars closer to its other brands, including FanDuel, to create a more locally focused operating model.
A spokesperson explained to SBCAmericas that the restructuring responds to tougher regulatory and competitive conditions in many markets.
“While we have sought to minimize the impact on colleagues, including through opportunities for redeployment, the proposals will unfortunately result in a number of roles being affected. We are communicating with those impacted as part of the process and will provide them with the support they need throughout,” the spokesperson said.
PokerStars has relaunched under the FanDuel banner in North America but stressed that its operations elsewhere remain unchanged, with existing licenses and market presence continuing as before.

In mid‑May, FanDuel CEO Amy Howe stepped down suddenly, with company president Christian Genetski stepping into the role. Weeks later, the operator confirmed hundreds of staff had been let go in its own restructuring.
Soon after, Asaf Noifeld, managing director of FanDuel Casino and a long‑time Flutter executive who had also served at PokerStars, announced he would leave after more than a decade with the group.
These changes have unfolded against a backdrop of wider financial pressure. Flutter trimmed its full‑year revenue guidance for 2026 after reporting a 38% drop in global net income in the first quarter.
In the U.S., however, revenue rose 6% year‑on‑year to $1.76 billion, with iGaming climbing 19%. PokerStars, now operating under the FanDuel brand in North America, generated an estimated $2.74 million in gross revenue across its three‑state network in April, its first month of relaunch. Flutter had already carried out job cuts in India last November.
