eCOGRA will continue to operate under its current leadership, with CEO Will Shuckburgh remaining at the helm. The acquisition is designed to strengthen eCOGRA’s reach and capacity, while giving customers and regulators more choice in testing and certification services.

Visualize said the move will expand licensing coverage, speed up turnaround times, and widen the range of compliance options available. The company also plans to extend its employee ownership program to eCOGRA’s staff, allowing them to share in the value created by the business.

CEO Will Shuckburgh emphasized the importance of the partnership: “For more than two decades, eCOGRA’s mission has been to ensure that players can trust the games they play and that operators can meet the highest standards of compliance.

“Partnering with Visualize gives us the resources to serve our customers better – to invest in our people, our technology, and our capacity – while continuing to operate with the independence and integrity that our accreditation partners and customers expect.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals.

Visualize Group continue to expand in the gaming testing industry

Earlier this year, the Visualize Group completed its acquisition of BMM Testlabs, one of the longest‑standing compliance testing firms in the gaming sector. The deal, announced in March, marked a major change in ownership for a company that has spent decades working closely with regulators, suppliers, and operators worldwide.

Melvin Ike, Founder and Managing Partner of Visualize, said, “Building on our experience in regulated gaming, the independent testing and certification that both eCOGRA and BMM provide is fundamental to protecting players and sustaining the trust of regulators, and the two businesses bring distinct capabilities across online and land-based gaming”

The eCOGRA’s move also comes at a time when the wider testing and certification industry is already experiencing shifts. Another major player, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), was also navigating changes in ownership.  Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners had initially filed notices to acquire GLI outright, including its subsidiaries Kobetron and Worldwide Laboratories.

But nearly a year later, the plan evolved into a strategic partnership instead of a full takeover. The companies explained that the new arrangement was designed “to support GLI’s continued growth and long‑term development.”
