Betano Expands Commitment to Inclusive Sports Through New Partnership in Argentina
Betano has recently launched a collaboration project with Fundación Empate, a platform promoting inclusive sports in Argentina. The initiative features an adapted football tournament and opens the way to a number of events that lead to a major championship of the organization. The aim of this project is to create opportunities for the development of young athletes with Down syndrome and strengthen the inclusive environment of Argentine sports.
The collaboration project falls into the framework of the “Challenge Your Limits” program organized by Kaizen Gaming. The tournament will provide training for 192 athletes on a weekly basis. Apart from financing trainings, Betano will provide additional resources to prepare for the FUT21 National Tournament. It is the major futsal championship of Argentinean athletes with Down syndrome to take place in October.
The Partnership Focused on Athletes’ Development
Fundación Empate stressed that the collaboration not only finances the projects but helps athletes grow personally and athletically with the help of the training provided.
“For us, the support does not mean money only. This is a real possibility for our players to develop, train, and show all their abilities. We appreciate that some companies like Betano become a part of such projects, because of highlighting the work of all members of our foundation“, German Laborda, President of Fundación Empate, noted.
Betano also stressed that corporate social responsibility meant real involvement and creating something beneficial to the community.
“The concept of corporate social responsibility implies getting involved and supporting those people whose stories we know. This means being a partner that promotes inclusiveness and development in sports through such collaboration with organizations as Fundación Empate“, Alvaro Ferreres, Betano’s Country Manager in Argentina, noted.

More than Sport, Teachers’ Training
The collaboration also implies Inclusive Sports Teacher Training Workshops for more than 800 sports professionals, including coaches, physical educators, physiotherapists, and teams working with athletes with Down syndrome. Such a specialized program will provide them with the up-to-date methodologies to work in an adapted environment.
Combining grassroots athletes’ training with education for the coaches creates a model of inclusive football that is sustainable and works effectively.
Previous Experience with Inclusive Sports Projects
This agreement is another step forward in the company’s investment in adapted sports within the framework of the “Challenge Your Limits” program. For instance, the company helped the national team of blind football players of Argentina, Los Murciélagos, by financing their infrastructure and providing assistance to high-performance competitors.
Thus, according to the program, more than 900 athletes have already been affected in Argentina.
