Giants’ Jameis Winston addresses Jaxson Dart-Abdul Carter situation: ‘Uncomfortable times help unify people’

New York quarterback Jaxson Dart introduced President Trump at a rally last Friday. While one of Dart’s teammates, Abdul Carter, originally did not take too kindly to the QB’s presence at the event, the two have since moved past the situation.

Along with that, the Giants’ backup quarterback, Jameis Winston, also gave his thoughts on his teammates’ differences and how they should move forward.

Here’s what Winston said regarding his two teammates in his classic passionate-speech format.

What did Jameis Winston say about Jaxson Dart-Abdul Carter situation?

During Friday’s OTAs, the Giants’ backup quarterback gave his take on the Dart-Carter situation. As always, Winston kept things animated. He told a graphic story with the main takeaway that «uncomfortable times help unify people.»

Winston began his speech recounting the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in 1963. He related it to standing for free speech and people standing for what they believe in.

«I also believe in respecting authority, respect in treating the man and the woman as I would like to be treated,» said Winston. «That is how uncomfortable situations and uncomfortable times help unify people because you know them, you realize from them, and you grow from them.»

What happened between Jaxson Dart and Abdul Carter

Last weekend, Dart introduced President Trump at a rally at Rockland Community College in Suffern, N.Y. Carter could not believe that his teammate was present at the event, even saying he originally thought a video clip from the rally was AI-generated. That tweet has since been taken down.

Today, Dart and Carter appeared to put their differing opinions behind them and were seen embracing at New York’s OTAs. Here is footage of the two hugging.

Carter also went as far as telling Dart that he shouldn’t apologize for his presence at the rally. Here is what the second-year linebacker said.
