«I don’t know»: Anthony Edwards clueless on what future Timberwolves need to contend with Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs needed six games to remove the Minnesota Timberwolves from the NBA Playoffs but that is not the fraction of the story. Timberwolves, Edwards clueless on how to contend with Spurs in the future

A rare sight in NBA Playoffs history happened in Game 6 between the Spurs and Timberwolves. With eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Anthony Edwards was already heading to the opposing bench so that he could shake hands with their opponents. This was a clear sign of waving the white flag early after the Timberwolves got dominated. Now, this squad will be back to the drawing board after failing to make their third-straight Western Conference Finals appearance.

Edwards was asked about where the Timberwolves will start when it comes to planning against the Spurs in coming years. The superstar was left clueless and was not shy to admit that they did not have any answers yet, via Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

«I don’t know man. I don’t think that’s a question for me,» Edwards said.

The Timberwolves star was doing insanely well while battling through an injury throughout the NBA Playoffs. Edwards averaged 28.8 points per game on a 49% clip from the field while grabbing five rebounds and 1.3 steals. He will need to play on an MVP level while his other teammates step up.

Coach Chris Finch was asked about the loss too and he had a very simple answer.

«You either got to be a problem or have a solution. You have to be built in a way that troubles your opponent with something they don’t have or have something to counter what they do have,» the Timberwolves head coach declared.

As of the moment, Coach Finch and Edwards will be resting while seeing how the Spurs perform against the Thunder. They will leave it to their future selves to figure out how to contend against the Wembanyama-led Spurs.
