Liverpool and Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday in a game that did little to either team’s European aspirations this season.

Ryan Gravenberch’s superb opening goal was cancelled out when Enzo Fernandez’s free-kick found its way into the bottom corner, possibly via a touch from Wesley Fofana.

Each side had a goal disallowed in the second half, but the stalemate in front of a largely frustrated Anfield crowd could not be broken.

The Reds still have Champions League qualification firmly in their own hands, but this result, coming off the back of last week’s loss to Manchester United, means they must win one of their final two matches to guarantee a top-five finish.

Chelsea snapped their six-game losing streak and still have a chance of finishing in the European places, but they could fall to 12th depending on results elsewhere this weekend.
