“Welcome to Trell-evision,” the 28-year-old declared as he walked in for his first official club media appearance in well over a year.
Asked what prompted him to break his media ban this week, Mitchell explained it was to honour his backline teammate Campbell Graham who will make his 150th NRL appearance against the Sharks on Saturday afternoon at Accor Stadium.
“Big Campbell is playing his 150th this week and he’s one of my great mates and all-time teammates — I’m very proud of him,” Mitchell said.

“It’s a special occasion this week and I only want to talk on special occasions now,” Mitchell added.

“Campbell has been a very good teammate to me for a long time and I thought what better time to come out and have a yarn.”
While Mitchell generally deflected questions about his future at the Rabbitohs and even the potential of moving to the PNG Chiefs on tax-free deal in 2028, he was keen to talk about his Rabbitohs teammates.
“I love every single one of them,” Mitchell declared with a smile.
He was also asked about the possibility of adding to his 11 State of Origin appearances for NSW in the upcoming series.
“I love the Blues, it’s what we represent,” he said.
“I’ll see how we go… but I haven’t spoken to Laurie (Daley).”
At the end of a relatively short, but entertaining, conversation Mitchell was asked if there was anything else he wanted to mention given his long media absence.
“Not on camera… I’ll tell you later, off the record,” he grinned, and then walked out.
