Although they got their first league win since December 28 when they defeated Wolves 1-0, they are still two points behind 17th-place West Ham United with four games to play.

Roberto De Zerbi is in position as Spurs’ third head coach this season. Like predecessors Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor, he is grappling with a weighty injury list.

The Sporting News brings you a look at the list of injured Tottenham players, plus a projected lineup for their upcoming match.

Tottenham injury list

Below is the latest injury picture for Tottenham, including estimated return dates for those who are sidelined.

Xavi Simons

  • Injury: Knee (torn ACL)
  • Expected return date: TBD

Simons was hurt during the win over Wolves, and Spurs confirmed on April 27 that the playmaker had torn the ACL in his right knee. He will now be sidelined until at least the end of 2026.

Dominic Solanke

  • Injury: Muscle
  • Expected return date: TBD

Solanke sustained a muscle injury against Wolves but is not expected to be sidelined for too long. However, with only four games left of the season, any absence now could be significant.

Destiny Udogie

  • Injury: Muscular
  • Expected return date: May 3 (vs. Aston Villa)

Italy defender Udogie impressed his new manager in the 2-2 draw against Brighton but has suffered a fresh muscular injury. De Zerbi is hopeful his compatriot will be available to face Villa.

Pape Sarr

  • Injury: Shoulder
  • Expected return date: May 3 (vs. Aston Villa)

Senegal midfielder Sarr sat out the Brighton game due to shoulder soreness, related to a problem he first sustained on international duty. He was not ready to return against Wolves.

Cristian Romero

  • Injury: Knee
  • Expected return date: August 2026

Romero hurt his knee in the loss to Sunderland after an accidental collision with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. De Zerbi confirmed prior to the Brighton game that the captain would miss the rest of the season.

Guglielmo Vicario

  • Injury: Hernia
  • Expected return date: May 3 (vs. Aston Villa)

Vicario underwent hernia surgery, a problem that arose after he was omitted from the Italy squad for the March international window.

Vicario gutted it out against Nottingham Forest before going under the knife, but he missed the loss to Sunderland and was not ready to face either Brighton or Wolves.

Mohammed Kudus

  • Injury: Thigh
  • Expected return date: May/June

Kudus was injured in the early January draw with Sunderland and following a scan over the next few days, unfortunate news was revealed. Thomas Frank stated on January 8 that Kudus would be out until after the March international break, but that did not come to pass.

In fact, De Zerbi indicated that Kudus had suffered a setback in his recovery, and surgery could now be an option, which would end his season and put his World Cup participation in serious jeopardy this summer.

Dejan Kulusevski

  • Injury: Knee
  • Expected return date: Unknown

Kulusevski’s absence has been felt by club and country with the Sweden international yet to feature this season after undergoing knee surgery in May. He was expected back before the end of 2025, but Spurs continually refuse to give a timeline for his return. Even Thomas Frank has been frustrated by his continued absence, saying in late December: «When they are ready to be close to joining the squad then I will provide an update.»

An update eventually did come in early January, when the club stated he was still 3-4 weeks away from returning to training, at which point he would likely need further ramping up to regain fitness. Yet on February 9, Frank said Kulusevski would be seeing a specialist the following week, after which the club will know more, indicating the player has once again missed his timeline.

During the March international break, Kulusevski broke the silence on his «complicated» knee injury, saying he underwent another surgery in mid-March and said «everything should be solved. I can see the light, it feels better now.» It’s totally unclear when he could return, but that update is positive at least.

Ben Davies

  • Injury: Fractured ankle
  • Expected return date: June

Davies was injured in the loss to West Ham, and Spurs announced on January 19 that he would need surgery on a broken ankle. It means the experienced defender, who is out of contract at the end of June, could have played his final game for the club.

Wilson Odobert

  • Injury: ACL tear
  • Expected return date: September

The 21-year-old French winger suffered a serious knee injury in the first half of the February defeat to Newcastle which saw Thomas Frank sacked.

An ACL tear will keep Odobert out at least six months, meaning he is done for the 2025/26 campaign. He may not even be ready by the time preseason begins, meaning he might need additional time before proving fit to participate in next season’s proceedings.
