ISO 9001:2015 Certification for PAGCOR Maintained after Last Month’s Audit

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation has kept its ISO 9001:2015 certification for the fourth straight time following an audit completed in December. The renewal reflects the agency’s continued compliance with international quality management standards.

PAGCOR chair and CEO Alejandro Tengco credited the achievement to employees who consistently work to improve the agency’s systems. He received the certification from DQS Certification Phils. Inc. at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City on April 16.

Renewal of Certification

Tengco said the recertification reflects PAGCOR’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across its operations. He also noted that the recognition belongs to the teams working at the Corporate Office and across the agency’s branches. The certification covers PAGCOR’s management systems and follows a surveillance audit conducted from Dec. 15 to 18, 2025. That review examined 17 existing sites, including the Corporate Office and several Casino Filipino branches.

Among the locations included in the audit were branches in Tagaytay, Angeles, Citystate, Cebu, Ilocos Norte, Bacolod, Olongapo, Grand Regal, Malabon Grand, Binondo, Greenery, Manila Grand Opera, Kartini, Networld, Tropicana in Las Piñas, and Oriental Pearl.

Audit Findings

DQS recognized the good work done by PAGCOR in terms of leadership and strategic orientation, governance, and regulation compliance. The auditor further mentioned PAGCOR’s digitization initiatives, which have increased the efficiency of its processes.

The review further cited PAGCOR’s operational resilience and safety culture. It also recognized the agency’s quality customer service, gaming innovations, sustainability efforts, responsible practices, and employee training programs.

These were among the factors that provided justification for the certification renewal. It was noted that PAGCOR’s performance in several aspects has been consistently outstanding throughout the review period.

Employee And Systems Focus

Tengco linked the result to the work of PAGCOR staff, saying the agency’s employees have played an important role in keeping its systems improving. His remarks placed the emphasis on internal discipline and steady operational progress.

The audit’s scope suggests that the certification is tied not only to office procedures but also to the way PAGCOR manages its branch network. That broader review framework gave the agency another opportunity to show consistency across sites. PAGCOR has now maintained the certification through four consecutive rounds. The recent renewal of the certificate brings back the focus to the operation of the agency itself and maintaining the required standards. 

The ISO 9001:2015 certification is valid up to March 22, 2029, subject to the successful completion of the annual surveillance audits of PAGCOR. For now, the recertification confirms PAGCOR’s standing under the quality management standard. The agency’s latest audit result shows that its systems, personnel, and procedures continue to meet the required benchmarks.
