Cooperation Supports Enforcement Efforts
Kangwon Land stated that its partnerships with relevant authorities are intended to strengthen the response to illegal gambling games. The company and partner agencies are sharing information about suspected illegal operations and carrying out joint crackdowns.
The cooperation includes the Integrated Supervisory Committee for Gambling Industries, the Game Rating and Administration Commission, and the police. Kangwon Land said the joint approach allows the agencies to improve their ability to identify and respond to illegal gambling activities.
The company is also increasing coordination beyond online enforcement. This year, it has conducted joint crackdowns with relevant agencies in nearby local communities to improve its on-site response capabilities.
Kangwon Land is also expanding its surveillance network through public reports and both online and offline monitoring. The use of multiple reporting and monitoring channels is part of its effort to identify illegal gambling games that may operate through different formats.
The company’s activities are aimed at reducing the spread of illegal gambling games and encouraging a healthier social environment. Kangwon Land has positioned cooperation with public agencies and the Army as a central part of its prevention and enforcement work.
AI System Targets Illegal Sites
Kangwon Land has introduced an AI-based detection system called Gamble Tracker in cooperation with the KAIST Cybersecurity Research Center. The system is designed to identify illegal gambling game websites and support proactive monitoring.
The company noted that online illegal gambling games have become increasingly sophisticated and concealed. Gamble Tracker was introduced to help Kangwon Land monitor websites more actively, as illegal operators use methods that may be harder to detect through conventional approaches.

The AI-based system forms part of Kangwon Land’s effort to strengthen its monitoring capabilities. However, Kangwon Land said the system has established a proactive monitoring structure for illegal gambling game sites. The technology is being used alongside information-sharing with agencies, public reporting, and joint enforcement measures.
The KAIST Cybersecurity Research Center’s involvement connects the company’s anti-illegal gambling work with cybersecurity-focused technology. Kangwon Land emphasized that the system responds to the changing nature of online gambling operations.
Campaign Reaches Military Community
Kangwon Land recently conducted a prevention campaign with the Military Police Office of the Army Headquarters during the 16th Gyerong Military Culture Festival. The event was held from October 1 to October 5 near Gyerongdae Air Base in Chungnam Province.
The campaign informed military personnel, their families, and other visitors about the dangers associated with illegal gambling games. It also included interactive programs intended to promote a healthy leisure culture.
Kangwon Land said the programs received a positive response from visitors. The campaign was conducted as part of the company’s continuing cooperation with the Army under their memorandum of understanding.
Chief Executive Kim Do-gyun said illegal online gambling games are developing quickly and using more concealed methods. He noted that prevention, early response, and coordination among the appropriate agencies had become even more significant. The company stated that they would keep on making use of their partnership, monitoring, and preventive efforts to tackle illegal gambling games.
