So far, Blakey and the Swans have said nothing official about whether he wants out, so we’re relying on rumors and reports, which isn’t ideal.
But this has been bubbling away for the past week or so, and usually, when there is so much talk about a move like this, there is generally an ounce of truth to it.

SEN’s Tom Morris has stated that the Cats are Blakey’s preferred club.

“A lack of draft capital is an issue, and the Swans’ preference is anyone but the Cats. “It’s far from certain he’s going to be at Geelong next year. There’s a lot of hoops that have to be jumped through.
“It’s a difficult, nuanced, delicate scenario.”
Blakey deal complicated
And this is simply because Rowan Marshall has stated he’s adamant he wants to be a Cat, and this is the second offseason he’s requested a move.
So, will Geelong honor that and do its best to get Marshall?
Or is the lure of getting one of the best half-backs in football too enticing to ignore?
This looms as a fascinating storyline to follow over the coming days as the Cats could very well be forced to pick which star they want in 2027.
