The suspension, announced in a Friday (Oct 2) press release, applies to all of the company’s licences and gaming venues and will remain in place until a final ruling is made, but no later than 1 April 2027.
Regulators concluded that Charm no longer meets the requirements set out in the Gambling Act, pointing to failures in areas such as tax compliance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
Investigation findings and grounds for suspension
The Authority began its supervisory case against Charm in May 2026, reviewing annual reports and examining evidence from a criminal investigation at Södertälje District Court.
That investigation revealed that both current and former members of Charm’s leadership had been charged with serious financial crimes, including aggravated accounting offences. These charges were tied to Lucky 21 Casino AB, a company previously licensed to operate and closely linked to Charm in terms of staff, venues, and business model.

The review of Charm’s accounts suggested that the same type of misconduct seen at Lucky 21 was likely continuing under Charm’s management. Because many of the same individuals were involved in both companies, the regulator judged that the risk of ongoing mismanagement remained high.
It concluded that Charm had breached its obligations under the Gambling Act and no longer satisfied the conditions required to hold a licence.
The interim suspension was deemed necessary to protect consumers and uphold public confidence in the gambling system. The decision took effect immediately, meaning Charm must stop all licensed activity without delay.
