Kangwon Land Launches Responsible Gaming Campaign for Local Players

The casino operator confirmed that the program will be conducted on a monthly basis until November, and consists of 2 themed pop-up programs involving self-assessment exercises and gambling prevention information.

Those who have been classified as high-risk customers are provided with on-site counseling by experts and also provided with tailored guidance in relation to actions that can prevent gambling problems, according to a recent press release.

Kim Gyeong-hun, head of KLACC, said the campaign is intended to enable customers and members of the public to take part in responsible-gaming awareness programmes through recreational activities. He said the pop-up experiential booth campaign will continue until November, alongside ongoing online promotions, as part of efforts to lead in preventing excessive gambling.

Focus on Self-Assessment and Counselling

The healthy gaming lounge forms a central part of Kangwon Land’s responsible gaming campaign. Visitors can use a psychological test developed by KLACC and the Canadian Problem Gambling Index to assess their gambling behaviour.

The casino operator said this approach allows for early intervention and support for those who may be developing problematic gambling habits.

By combining self-assessment with professional guidance, the programme aims to provide practical tools for customers to manage their gaming activity. The healthy gaming lounge is one of 2 themed pop-up programmes running monthly until November.

The other program deals with interactive sessions for generating awareness about the signs of problem gambling. These programs together contribute to the larger strategy of the company in promoting responsible gaming in the only casino in South Korea that allows local gamblers.

Interactive Activities for All Ages

The second pop-up programme uses games and interactive methods to help resort visitors recognize warning signs of excessive gambling.

Self-assessment tests and quizzes are included to improve understanding of problem-gambling indicators. Others have been set up to ensure participation by people of all ages.

According to the casino owner, the interactive features are meant to make the responsible gaming knowledge programme accessible and interesting. The use of games and quizzes is expected to target more people to ensure that there is open communication on the issue of gambling.

The campaign is meant to allow the customers and the general public to engage in responsible-gaming awareness programs through recreational activities, said Kim Gyeong-hun, the head of KLACC. The pop-up experiential booth campaign is scheduled to continue until November.

Online promotions will also run alongside the physical activities to extend the reach of the campaign. Kangwon Land said it plans to take the lead in preventing excessive gambling through these combined efforts.

The interactive format is intended to complement the self-assessment and counselling services offered in the healthy gaming lounge.
