Lottopar Strengthens Sports Integrity with Training for Athletico Paranaense Staff
Lottopar has organized another session of sports integrity training, involving more than 100 employees of the Club Athletico Paranaense. The initiative took place during two days at Centro de Treinamento do Caju and Arena da Baixada.

The course comprised not only athletes but also administration and operational personnel of the club. The session is part of general efforts made by Lottopar in order to prevent match fixing and ensure responsible gambling.
Integrity as a Key Principle of Professionalism
During the course, employees were informed on the significance of integrity for sports credibility and the dangers of match fixing as well as its consequences. Participants were acquainted with disciplinary measures such as sport sanctions, dismissal for cause, and even criminal prosecution in case of difficult situations. Individuals who violate rules related to sports integrity may receive lifetime exclusion from participating in competitions.
The initiative also focused on encouraging reporting of suspicious activity via official channels and highlighted preventive actions as an integral aspect of integrity.
Problem Gambling and Prevention
Another aspect discussed by participants of the course was problem gambling as well as addiction issues. Representatives of Lottopar informed employees about gambling problems and the necessity to detect them early in order to provide assistance.
In addition, Lottopar representatives emphasized that gambling should be considered as a form of entertaining activities that must be managed and controlled. During the course, participants also learned about consumer protection tools that were developed for preventing irresponsible gambling and ensuring the safety of gamblers.
Technological Aspects and Regulatory Frameworks
Moreover, the course provided information about gambling regulation in the country. It touched upon such aspects as anti-money laundering, betting rules, and identity checks using a system such as Know Your Customer (KYC). Mentioning these measures, the initiative highlights compliance with laws and rules, which can be important for maintaining international certifications, which is the strategy adopted by the region of Paraná, such as certification from the World Lottery Association and Cibelae.

Fábio Veiga, director of operations at Lottopar, thanked the club for involving its personnel in the process of education: “We commend Athletico Paranaense for including staff members in the lectures on this important issue, already held with our youth athletes.”
