Century Entertainment Expands Philippine Gaming Partners Before Trading Deadline

Century Entertainment is widening its network of accredited gaming partners in the Philippines as it works to resume trading of its shares in Hong Kong before the December 25, 2026 deadline. The company highlighted that the strategy is intended to reduce its reliance on a single platform or distributor for its electronic casino business.

Company Adds GSA License Connection

According to Century Entertainment, the September transaction gave it a 5% interest in a company holding a PAGCOR GSA license. The filing did not identify the company or provide the financial terms of the transaction. Also, the required corporate and regulatory procedures have not yet been completed. However, the investment forms part of Century Entertainment’s broader plan to build relationships with more than 1 accredited gaming platform in the Philippines.

The company said its goal is to develop its electronic casino business through multiple accredited platforms. This approach is designed to lower its dependence on a single GSA or distributor.

Century Entertainment’s 51%-owned game development venture, Konphil Technology Company Limited, has also taken steps to expand its accredited provider network. In March, Konphil appointed accredited game content providers in response to PAGCOR’s memorandum issued on March 26. By June, Konphil had appointed 2 accredited game content providers. Its games were being offered through an accredited GSA, according to Century Entertainment’s filing.

The company’s latest arrangements are intended to provide additional platforms for its gaming content. The strategy comes after an earlier issue involving the licenses of its strategic partner, World Platinum Technologies, or WPT.

WPT License Cancellations Disclosed

Century Entertainment said it learned in mid-April that WPT’s GSA and game content provider licenses had been canceled. The company described WPT as its strategic partner in the Philippine gaming business.

Century Entertainment mentioned that WPT continues to operate through another accredited GSA. The company cited advice from Philippine legal counsel in stating that the license cancellations did not affect Konphil’s Phase IV operations under Philippine gaming law.

The company’s decision to use multiple accredited providers and platforms is intended to reduce operational dependence on any individual partner. The October 9 filing restated that the company aims to develop its electronic casino business through more than 1 accredited platform.

Konphil reported an unaudited GGR of HK$86.9 million, or US$11.1 million, from its games between April and June. Group revenue for the same period was HK$53.9 million, or US$6.9 million. And since April, the venture has used a net winnings model. This replaced its previous arrangement, which was based on a fixed percentage share of GGR.

Resumption Requirements Remain

Century Entertainment noted that it had resolved issues related to a disclaimer previously issued by its former auditor. Its new auditor, Crowe (HK) CPA Limited, issued an unmodified opinion.

However, the audit opinion included an emphasis of matter concerning material uncertainties related to the company’s ability to continue as a going concern. The company said its board remains on track to meet the exchange’s resumption guidance.

The requirements include an independent review of the company’s internal controls. Century Entertainment must also meet the remaining conditions for the exchange to allow its shares to resume trading.
