Grand Korea Leisure Casino Revenue Rises to US$27.7M in September

Grand Korea Leisure, or GKL, generated a revenue of KRW 37.3 billion, which is the same as US$27.7 million, in September. This was an increase of 7.2% from the same period last year and an improvement of 19.8% from August’s income.

The casino operator’s September revenue increased even as its drop amount declined. GKL saw a decline of KRW 323.7 billion, or $24.3 million, by 5.2% compared to September 2025.

These results came as a consequence of the increased earnings from table games, but a decrease in earnings from gaming machines. GKL operates foreigner-only casinos in South Korea under its Seven Luck brand.

Table Games Support September Growth

GKL’s table game revenue reached KRW34.0 billion ($25.3 million) in September. This marked a rise of 8.4% compared to the previous year.

The boost from the table games was mainly responsible for GKL’s rise in casino revenue. Table games accounted for most of the KRW37.3 billion reported in September casino revenue.

Gaming machine revenue moved in the opposite direction. The segment contributed KRW 3.27 billion, equivalent to US$2.43 million, recording a year-on-year decline of 4.5%.

Even though machine income fell short, income from table games was sufficient to raise GKL’s overall casino income. The result was also 19.8% higher than the casino revenue reported in August.

The September figures showed a difference between revenue and the drop amount. Although the amount wagered, or dropped, declined 5.2% year-on-year, the company recorded higher casino revenue during the month.

GKL’s report did not provide further information on the reasons for the change in drop amount or the growth in table games revenue. The monthly data showed that the increase in table game performance offset the lower gaming machine result.

9-Month Casino Sales Increase

For the first 9 months of 2026, GKL reported casino sales of KRW337.2 billion, or US$250 million. The result was 5.8% higher than the sales recorded during the same period last year.

The January-to-September total includes the casino revenue reported in September. The year-to-date result remained positive despite the decline in the drop amount recorded during the latest month.

The company’s casino business operates through the Seven Luck brand. GKL has 3 foreigner-only casino properties located in Seoul and Busan.

The 9-month revenue figure provides a broader view of the company’s performance in 2026. Casino sales of KRW337.2 billion reflected a year-on-year increase across the first 3 quarters of the year.
