As the offseason period officially begins with several players already moving clubs, this has been a little quiet for the Eagles.

There have been rumors over the past year that maybe Warner would head home to WA, but Eagles list manager Matthew Clarke doesn’t envision a move for Chad, who is set to be a free agent after next season.

“We’ll obviously do our due diligence and ask the question about scenarios that played out in the last couple of months, but from where we sit right now Chad will be playing for Sydney next year.”
Should Eagles be aggressive for Warner?
Given that the midfielder is set to be a free agent after next season, plus the reported incident this season, the Eagles could look at getting Warner at a discount.
But going by Clarke’s words, the Swans very much see Warner as a player of need in 2027 and rightly so, given what he can produce for the club both as a midfielder and forward.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Eagles from asking about Warner’s availability, and I’d imagine this will be one storyline that should be watched closely.
Because, as we know, everyone has a price. We just don’t know Sydney’s price for Warner yet.
