The Canberra Raiders have continued to build for the future by securing the services of three young players, with Jed Stuart, Malachi Smith and Mark Tuialii all signing contract extensions with the club.

Stuart has received the longest deal of the trio, committing to Canberra until the end of the 2029 season after establishing himself as a regular member of the Raiders squad since making his NRL debut in 2025.

The Woden Valley Rams junior and son of coach Ricky Stuart, has now made 28 appearances for Canberra, scoring 11 tries, and will remain an important part of the club’s plans over the coming seasons.

Smith has been rewarded with a two-year extension through to the end of 2028 after making his NRL debut in the final round of the 2026 season, having previously impressed in the lower grades and earning the Raiders’ NSW Cup Player of the Year award.

Tuialii has also signed through to the end of 2028 after progressing through Canberra’s pathways since joining the club in 2023, with the young outside back picking up the NSW Cup Coaches’ Award in 2026 and touted as a future NRL starter.

The 2027 season looms as an important one for Tuialii as he looks to push for his NRL debut, while Smith will also be hoping to build on his first-grade opportunity after breaking into Ricky Stuart’s squad late this year.

The trio may not be the biggest names on Canberra’s roster just yet, but locking them away for the next few seasons gives the Raiders some important continuity as they look to continue developing the next generation of players around their established NRL squad.
