Atlanta’s passing game toiled in its Week 2 loss to the Panthers. The Falcons threw for just 129 passing yards in their home opener as Carolina fell, 34-3, to Carolina — a team that had just conceded 59 points in Week 1.

Among those left dismayed by the outing was Atlanta’s top pass-catcher, newly-minted $140 million man Drake London. The USC product issued a polemic to an observer partway through the contest, a clear indication that things weren’t quite going to plan for Atlanta’s attack.

Drake London apparently tells fans he will ‘f— him up’

London has struggled to get involved in Atlanta’s offense thus far this season, collecting just 10 targets across the first two games of the season. His frustrations over his lack of usage came to a head on Sunday amid a torrent of Rush turnovers.

With the Falcons trailing 27-3 at the start of the third quarter, cameras caught London in the midst of a tirade, ostensibly directed at a fan in attendance.

«That motherf— right there,» London appeared to say while pointing at the person, «I will f— you up.»

London finished the day with four catches for 51 yards. The performance represented a major improvement on the two-catch, 29-yard outing he enjoyed in Atlanta’s Week 1 defeat to the Steelers.

The Falcons’ passing woes reached a fever pitch on Sunday. Rush gave the ball away three times, prompting head coach Kevin Stefanski to give the reins of the offense to undrafted rookie Jack Strand. It was less than ideal circumstances for the Minnesota State-Moorhead standout to be introduced in; Strand threw a pick-six on his first drive.

Atlanta’s quarterback room has been the subject of countless inquiries, with none of Strand, Rush, Tua Tagovailoa or Michael Penix Jr. appearing to represent the franchise’s long-term answer under center. Given Rush and Strand’s latest displays, things could get worse before they get better for London and Co.
