Racecourse Media Group announces appointment of Nigel Railton as its new Chair

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has appointed Nigel Railton as its new Chair, with the former Camelot UK CEO set to take up the position on October 1.

Railton brings board-level, commercial and leadership experience across media, consumer-facing businesses and highly regulated industries.

He currently serves as Chair of Post Office Ltd, a position he has held since May 2024. In the role, Railton is leading the organisation’s transformation programme and efforts to rebuild relationships with stakeholders. He is also a trustee of The Social Mobility Foundation.

Railton Brings Lottery and International Experience

Before joining Post Office Ltd as Chair, Railton served as Chief Executive Officer of Camelot UK, the operator of The National Lottery.

During his time at the company, he led a significant business turnaround, alongside sustained sales growth, record returns to good causes and an expansion of its digital operations.

Railton previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Camelot Global, where he developed the company’s international business and secured major lottery contracts across Ireland, Europe and the United States.

A qualified accountant, Railton earlier held senior positions covering finance, operations and strategy at Railtrack, Black & Decker and Daewoo Cars.

Railton Looks to Build on RMG’s Position

Railton will officially begin his new role on October 1, succeeding Conor Grant. Grant will remain with RMG for a one-month handover period until November 1, having served as Chair since April 2023.
