The Sporting News has all the details you need to know about the Asia Pacific Flag Championships.

What is flag football?

Flag football is a non-contact variation of American football, where defenders cannot tackle players, but instead need to pull a flag off the opposing players belt to stop play.

It is usually played with teams of five-to-seven players.

Scoring is slightly different from American football with no kicking allowed, meaning there is no field goals or extra point conversions by kick.

Six points are awarded for a touchdown, two points for a safety and the extra point will be one or two points depending on whether the attacking team starts their run from the 5-yard or 10-yard line respectively.

The Asia Pacific Flag Football Championships will be held across the weekend of September 5-6.
