The Macau-based electronic gaming equipment supplier said revenue for the 6 months ended June 30 increased by 47.3% year-on-year to nearly HKD33.9 million.

Asia Pioneer had earlier expected first-half profit and total comprehensive income to fall between HKD2.2 million and HKD2.4 million, citing stronger demand for electronic gaming equipment.

Gross Profit Rises Despite Margin Dip

Gross profit increased to HKD15.9 million from HKD10.9 million a year earlier. Gross profit margin, however, eased slightly to 46.9% from 47.5%.

First-half operating expenses increased by 9.8% year-on-year to approximately HKD12.1 million. The company attributed the rise mainly to higher staff costs and travelling expenses.

The group distributes electronic gaming equipment in Macau through its Asia Pioneer Entertainment arm. It also supplies equipment to land-based casinos elsewhere in Asia and operates a smart vending machine business.

Equipment Business Drives Growth

The combined revenue for technical sales and distribution from the company’s electronic gaming machine business stood at roughly HKD33.0 million in the first half of the year, compared to nearly HKD22.0 million in the corresponding period last year. There was an improvement in segment profits, which jumped to HKD5.4 million from HKD2.2 million.

Revenue for technical sales and distribution was 56.2% higher year on year at HKD30.1 million. The company said that the rise was the major contributor to total revenue growth.

Almost HKD27.4 million of the total revenue came from electronic table games. The rest was HKD1.8 million from electronic gaming machines and nearly HKD950,000 from spare parts.

The gross profit margin for technical sales and distribution fell to 44.4% from 45.5%.

Consultancy Revenue Also Improves

Revenue from gaming-related consultancy and technical services rose by 16.0% year-on-year to approximately HKD2.9 million. Its gross profit margin increased to 75.0% from 69.5%.

The company recorded no revenue from repair services in the 1H of 2026, compared with approximately HKD200,000 a year earlier.

The results left Asia Pioneer with higher overall revenue and profit despite increased operating expenses and slightly lower margins in its main technical sales and distribution business.

Macau Orders Support Outlook

Asia Pioneer said it was confident about its growth trajectory for the 2H of 2026. The company pointed to robust demand and ongoing orders in Macau as support for its outlook.

Macau casino operators continued placing new and replacement orders for the company’s core electronic gaming equipment. Asia Pioneer expects its performance to be higher in the second half. The company linked that expectation to continuing demand from Macau casino operators.

Approval Applications Continue

Asia Pioneer is pursuing licenses or approvals connected to the supply of gaming equipment in the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and Japan. The company expects to receive an update on its UAE supplier-license application during the 2H of 2026.

The UAE presently has 1 licensed casino operator, Wynn Resorts Ltd. It has the Wynn Al Marjan Island casino resort project under construction in Ras Al Khaimah and is scheduled to be completed in September 2027.

The company’s first-half performance was supported mainly by electronic table game sales and broader technical distribution revenue. Its next steps will include fulfilling Macau orders and pursuing approvals in the UAE, Singapore, and Japan.
