Dual premiership winning halfback Adam Reynolds has played his last NRL match.

After struggling with calf injuries in recent weeks the Brisbane Broncos have confirmed their captain will be unable to play again in 2026, thus bringing down the curtain on his glittering 323-match NRL career.

“The Brisbane Broncos can confirm that Adam Reynolds will not be available for selection for the remaining two NRL games against the Storm and Bulldogs due to ongoing injury concerns regarding his calves,” the statement said.

While not the way the 36-year-old wanted his NRL career to end, Reynolds leaves the game with no regrets.

“All NRL careers come to an end and unfortunately mine is today, I won’t be playing this week or next week,” Reynolds said on Brisbane radio earlier today.

“The left calf was giving me nerve issues, and then I had a little grade one strain in the right calf which has not bounced back as quickly as I would’ve liked.

“I trained today and thought I would be a chance to play one last home game… but it’s not to be.”

Reynolds’ first-grade career began with the Rabbitohs in 2012 and after ten seasons in the cardinal and myrtle — including a premiership in 2014 — he moved north to Brisbane in 2022, taking on the Broncos captaincy and leading the club to its first NRL premiership in 19 seasons in 2025.

He also played two Origin matches for NSW in 2016.

Reynolds is expected to transition into coaching with the Broncos in 2027 working with the club’s halves and mentoring younger players.
