For the 2026-27 season, Socceroos teenager Lucas Herrington is looking a real chance to an impression for promoted Premier League club Hull City.

While Aussie players in the PL are sparse, several are ready to take the Championship — England’s second division — by storm.

The Sporting News lists the Australian players in the Premier League and Championship.

Australians in the Premier League 2026-27

Lucas Herrington (Hull City)

The 18-year-old Socceroos centre-half has joined Hull City for an Australian record transfer fee of AU$33 million.

Herrington was also linked with the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but opted to join the Tigers to get opportunities to play.

While he was only signed by Hull last week, Herrington played 30 minutes in the team’s friendly versus Nice last weekend.

There is a big chance he figures in the squad for Hull’s Premier League opener against Manchester United and a start in the team looks to be an opportunity in the near-future.

Raphael Borges Rodrigues (Coventry City)

The Melbourne City youth product is still on Coventry’s books but it’s unlikely the winger will figure in the first team this season in their Premier League return.

Raphael, 22, only played a handful of times for Coventry in the Championship and spent the second half of last campaign on loan at League One club Wigan.

He is more likely to secure a move away from Coventry — either permanently or on loan — to get playing time.
