Sydney Roosters enforcer Victor Radley has avoided suspension despite being charged for a spectacular high shot on Brian To’o late in the 12-6 win over the Panthers on Thursday night.

Radley was hit with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle Charge by the NRL Match Review Committee but will escape with a $3,000 fine if he takes an early guilty plea, rising to a two-match ban should he contest the charge and lose.

It’s the sixth time Radley has been put on report this season, resulting in fines of $4,800 but just a single one-match suspension following his Grade 2 Careless High Tackle on Titan’s star AJ Brimson in Round 10.

Memorably, the 28-year-old English international was also put on report by referee Adam Gee for three separate incidents in the Roosters’ Round 9 win over the Broncos back in May, but was controversially cleared of all three and didn’t even incur a fine.

Even Radley himself was surprised at that outcome from the Broncos game, asking ‘Is this April Fools?’ live on Fox League when the MRC charge sheet was released without his name on it.

“Happy days, I thought for sure something was coming,” he admitted with a relieved grin.

That echoed the thoughts of plenty of fans who think Radley must be one of the ‘luckiest’ players in the NRL — luck that has continued once again.
