Dak Prescott continues to garner praise from around the NFL.
The Athletic’s Mike Sando released the results of his annual QB Tiers Survey on Tuesday, and Prescott ranked No. 7 among the NFL’s 35 veteran quarterbacks, while finishing as the third-highest quarterback in Tier 2. The survey was based on evaluations from 50 NFL executives and coaches, who anonymously ranked the league’s veteran signal-callers across five tiers. Rookie quarterbacks were excluded from the survey.

The 33-year-old rose five spots from his 2025 ranking after throwing for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns last season. He finished third in the NFL in passing yards, fourth in passing touchdowns, and fifth in QBR on his way to his fourth career Pro Bowl nod. The Cowboys offense finished second in the league in total yards and seventh in points per game. Dallas also ranked fifth in offensive expected points added (EPA) per play but finished 7–9–1, largely due to a historically poor defense that ranked last in defensive EPA per play.
According to Sando, Prescott received “nearly as many Tier 1 votes this year (12) as he’d gotten across nine previous QB Tiers appearances (14)” and “made the fifth-largest year-over-year jump in average tier vote.” Sando also noted that, while Prescott missed most of 2024 due to injury, he ranked “No. 1 in EPA per pass play among a dozen QBs with at least 30 starts” across the 2023 and 2025 seasons.
