Former St. George Illawarra Dragons assistant coach Ryan Carr has been stood down from his duties as head coach by Super League club Castleford Tigers.

Details are yet to be made public and neither Carr or the club has commented on the move.
However UK publication Love Rugby Leagueis reporting the Australian will miss the Tigers’ clash Hull KR on Friday pending the results of an internal club investigation.
It is understood Carr has not been sacked by the club and at this stage there has been no suggestion of wrongdoing.

In the absence of an official reason for the decision, speculation on the cause of Carr’s suspension is rife across social media.

What is known is that the Tigers have experienced significant coaching turnover in recent seasons.
Carr is the eighth head/interim head coach since 2022 following Lee Radford, Andy Last, Danny Ward, Craig Lingard, Danny McGuire and Chris Chester.
The 38-year-old from Sydney is currently in his first season as Castleford head coach and previously coached Featherstone Rovers in 2019.
